Two injured in vehicle accident in Greenville

By Scott Harvey

Greenville – Units with the Greenville Police Department and Greenville Fire-Rescue Department responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Lee and Wesley Streets shortly after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a white GMC Jimmy, travelling West bound on Lee Street, ran a red light at the intersection of Wesley Street and collided with a brown Chevy Tahoe travelling South on Wesley Street which caused the GMC to roll over.

The driver of the GMC was extricated from the vehicle by the Greenville Fire-Rescue Department using the Jaws of Life. Minor injuries were sustained by both drivers. The driver of the GMC was transported to Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville via AMR Ambulance.

The driver of the Chevy Tahoe was not transported to the hospital and was able to drive his vehicle away from the scene.

The accident is still under investigation.
