Plea agreement reached in Commerce shooting

By Scott Harvey

Greenville – A Garland man has pleaded guilty to a double shooting at a Commerce night club.

Under a plea bargain arrangement, 25-year-old Carlos Anthony Mahr received a probated sentence and was fined, after his attorney filed a motion to suppress a key piece of evidence in the case.

He was placed on five years of deferred adjudication probation and a $200 fine in each case.

Commerce Police say gunfire erupted at a local club early New Year's Day.

Defense Attorney Frederick Shelton had filed a motion seeking to suppress the use of a photo identification by the victims, claiming the identification was flawed.
