Bonham – Improvements to Jones Field, the City of Bonham's airport, were unveiled this week.
Thanks to a $600,000 grant, more hangars and a larger taxiway have been installed. Two years ago, another grant allowed for a 1,000 foot extension to its runway to accommodate larger planes.
By 2014, the taxiway will extend south to cover the entire runway.
City officials hope the new improvements will have a positive impact on the local economy.
