The Weekender: KETR's Events Calendar Roundup for May 11-13, 2012

It's collegiate graduation weekend, but there are plenty of area events to attend after the tassels are turned.

Cooper Lake State Park is celebrating Texas Outdoor Family Day Saturday by sharing camping tips with families. Special camping rates apply.

In the aftermath of the April 3rd tornados, Como-Pickton ISD learned that the home of band director Jeremy Wofford had been destroyed. On Saturday, the Pickton Community Center is the site of a spring festival set to benefit the rebuilding effort.

The 8th annual Ladonia Ranch Rodeo is Saturday night at Eastman Arena, featuring music by Dale Riley and the Last Train South.

The Sam Bell Maxey House in Paris, a Texas State Historic Site, is open for free tours on Sunday starting at 9am.

And the Higher Trails Cowboy Church at Celeste is hosting a series of Western Heritage play-days that include prize money and belt buckle prizes in competitions like barrel racing and pole bending, on both Saturday and Sunday.

If you know of more events open to the public this weekend, it's not too late to add them to the KETR Events Calendar. Many of the events listed will be highlighted in on-air announcements.
