Cumby Trojans: 2013 football preview

Texas High School Helmet Project

First-year coach Tom Dracos has high hopes for his new team.

Dracos has history in this part of the state - he's coached in Greenville and his wife is from the Greenville area. Dracos said that he was drawn to the school because he always believed that “Cumby is a school with a lot of good potential.”

The Trojans are being gouged by a loss of several seniors on both sides of the ball, but a few key players still remain for Cumby. Cody Anderson returns for his junior season after grabbing All-District honors on offense and defense. Travis Taylor earned the district’s Newcomer of the Year honors after a dazzling freshman season.

Cumby has a lot of youth at the skill positions, a new head coach, and a new district to compete in - so hopes are high for the 2013-14 campaign.
