The Commerce Lions Club and the A&M-Commerce Health and Human Performance department are teamed up to generate support for relief efforts related to the care and housing of the roughly 60,000 unaccompanied immigrant children expected to to have detained at the U.S.-Mexico border by this September.

Newly elected Lions Club president Dr. Betty Block recently sought out a partnership with public health doctoral student Spencer Willis, and together, they're working toward providing basic humanitarian aid, with the primary health and wellness needs of these immigrant minors at the forefront.

Jerrod Knight (ETAMU '05) is General Manager of 88.9 KETR, where he leads programming, news, sports, and development operations. He also contributes reporting and commentary on local issues in Northeast Texas.
