Following the end of Communist rule, the "Velvet Divorce" of 1989 split Czechoslovakia into two separate countries: Slovakia and The Czech Republic. Mary Clark made a last minute decision to visit the city of Bratislava during a European tour.
Slovakia's capital, Bratislava, relies on tourism and warmly welcomes all sightseers. This was great for visitor Mary Clark, who was able to witness historical sites such as St. Martin's Cathedral, and ride alongside the Danube River.
