Alice isn't impressed with 'Annie'

New Line Cinema

This week on Movie Picks with Alice Reese, Alice reviews The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, directed by Peter Jackson and starring Martin Freeman, and Annie, a modernized version of the classic story of Little Orphan Annie.

Here are some helpful hints, if you're planning on seeing either of these movies:

  • Make sure to re-watch the first two Hobbit movies (An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug), before checking out The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.
  • Some of the battles might be confusing, but don't worry there is a happy ending.
  • Little kids will probably enjoy Annie, but if you're a big fan of the original play, it might not be for you.

Alice Reese is the movie reviewer for the Greenville Herald-Banner, the Rockwall Herald-Banner, and for us at KETR.
Caitlin is from Paris, TX, and found her love of music and radio in her car rides with her dad. She has been a host on the student-run show, Lions After Dark, as well as a producer and engineer for weekend programming and sports on KETR. Currently, Caitlin is the local host of All Things Considered, and can be heard chatting with Alice Reese on the weekly "Movie Picks" program each Friday afternoon.
