DEPORT - Officials had to briefly close a section of roadway Monday morning after a gas leak in Deport along the Lamar-Red River County line.
The accident happened as workers were installing a new water line and accidentally hit a two inch gas line. Hwy 271 through downtown Deport was closed for about 30 minutes while Atmos Energy repaired the line.
No one was injured in the incident and no evacuations ordered.
