Architects hope to complete school by mid-January

Claycomb Associates - Framing installation at the new Sulphur Springs Middle School Media Center

SULPHUR SPRINGS - Substantial completion of the new Sulphur Springs Middle School is expected by the middle of next month, and move-in could take place during spring break.

The latest project update was provided to the school board earlier this month. Claycomb Associates Architects say roughly 90 percent of the more than $160,000 square foot building is complete.

Crews this month are beginning installation of the gym floor and theater sound and lighting.

Initial plans for completion of the new Sulphur Springs Middle School were planned for this holiday break, but officials were informed within the past month that the project got behind schedule.
