A&M-Commerce student dies of natural causes

COMMERCE - University Police at A&M-Commerce are reporting the death of a 61-year-old student early Saturday morning.

George Ellis, of Sulphur Springs, was pronounced dead at 3:30 a.m. inside his Prairie Crossing Apartment unit.

Lt. Jason Bone with UPD tells KETR that the student’s death is believed to be from natural causes.  No foul play is suspected and no autopsy has been ordered.

Authorities were notified of the situation after receiving a call from Ellis’ roommate.
