AUSTIN - A majority of area counties showed a drop in jobless figures in the latest report on Friday by the Texas Workforce Commission.
Hopkins County was down two-tenths of one percent to 6.2, while Rockwall and Collin counties fell to 6.4 percent. Hunt County’s unemployment rate remained unchanged at 8.1 percent.
Elsewhere throughout the region, Fannin County’s rate fell to 9 percent, Rains County fell to 8.1 and Lamar County gained one half of one percent to 9.5.
