Sunrise Municipal Utility District to discuss lake options

GREENVILLE - Developers wanting to create a new reservoir lake in Hunt County may now know where the water will come from.

The Sunrise Municipal Utility District will meet in Dallas Tuesday night to discuss using raw water from the City of Greenville to build the lake, although no agreement has been made concerning the sale, according to a Greenville official.

Sunrise developers approached the Cash Special Utility District last summer concerning expansion plans for their own district that will cover the next ten years, including the creation of a 300-400 acre lake to supply the development. But the Cash Board said they were not interested.

The Sunrise Municipal Utility District was approved by voters six years ago and designed to cover hundreds of acres in predominantly south Hunt County.
