GREENVILLE - 354thDistrict Court Judge Richard A. Beacom has taken the issue of whether to allow DNA testing in a Hunt County capitol murder case under advisement.

Attorneys for Brandon Dale Woodruff, convicted in 2005 for the killing of his parents, are seeking tests on hairs found on the hand of his mother at the murder scene.

Woodruff’s lawyers claim the hairs could belong to the individual who killed the couple. But prosecutors say the testing was never performed on the strands because the hairs likely came from the mother’s head.

Woodruff is currently serving a life sentence for the stabbing and shooting deaths of Dennis and Norma Woodruff near Royse City in 2005.
