GREENVILLE - The body of Wood County soldier Tanner Higgins will return home via a flight into Majors Field Municipal Airport in Greenville Monday.

The 2007 Sulphur Springs High School graduate died Saturday from injuries suffered in Afghanistan. The school district is flying flags at half staff Friday in honor of Higgins, who was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, at Hunter Army Airfield, Fort Stewart, Ga.

An arrival time for Monday’s landing and subsequent motorcade was not immediately clear. Beaty Funeral home is handling the arrangements, which are pending at Lake Fork Baptist Church as of Friday.
