City puts L-3 suits behind them by stopping all actions on issue

City of Greenville

GREENVILLE - Hoping that L-3 will do the same, City of Greenville officials Tuesday voted to not take any more action concerning lawsuits filed against them by the county’s largest employer.

Newly elected Mayor Steve Reid said City Attorney Brent Money and the Dallas Law Firm of Jackson Walker were directed to cease all work, press releases or billings without first receiving the express authorization of the council.

The city has spent more than $1 million defending itself from two lawsuits filed by L-3 concerning the proposed replat of Majors Field Municipal Airport. Both sides have been awaiting rulings from separate appeals courts. The replat of the airport, where L-3 leases space, would have divided what is currently one tract into four.
