COMMERCE - The Commerce ISD has announced the selection of Adam Rupert to fill the principal vacancy at the high school, effective July 16.

The former athletic director and head football coach at Whitesboro High School and administrator in Greenville most recently served as an assistant principal at Alvis Story Elementary School in the Allen ISD. He began his teaching career in Weatherford teaching history and coaching.

“We are excited about the qualities Adam brings to Commerce High School. With his experience across all grade levels, he brings an understanding that will help provide a rewarding high school experience for our students,” Superintendent Blake Cooper said.

Cooper added that an opportunity for students and staff to meet Rupert will be held later in the summer.

“I’m excited to have an opportunity to serve the students in Commerce. I enjoyed getting my master’s degree there and I absolutely love the community. I look forward to making it my home,” Rupert said. “I look forward to continuing and expanding the successes that the community and students have enjoyed.  I am anxious to begin building the relationships required for success,” he added.

Rupert replaces former CHS principal Virdie Montgomery, who took the principal position at Wylie High School.
