A&M-Commerce Athletic Director Cooper on Paid Leave
COMMERCE - Texas A&M University-Commerce has announced that Carlton Cooper, university athletic director, is on paid administrative leave.
“Carlton Cooper is currently on paid administrative leave for an undetermined amount of time to deal with some personal matters,” said Randy Jolly, associate vice president for Marketing Communications.
Jolly added that Judy Sackfield, associate athletic director, is filling in during this time.
“[Sackfield] is continuing the work of identifying areas of improvement within the department and overseeing the success of summer camps and recruiting efforts in preparation for the 2012-2013 season.”
Cooper came to A&M-Commerce in 2007 after serving as the senior associate athletic director for internal operations at Southern Methodist University in Dallas the previous seven years. From 1998 to 2000, Cooper was SMU’s community relations director.
