GREENVILLE - At the start of the week two murder trials were set to begin in Hunt County. One was delayed Monday.
On Tuesday, the trial of Antonio Derrance Fletcher was postponed until October because a defense witness, incarcerated in federal prison, was unavailable.
Fletcher, along with Devin Eugene Royal, were each indicted in the summer 2011 death of Javon Newman. Royal was previously convicted for his role and received a life prison term.
Meanwhile, the trial of Tyrone Leorone McCurdy was reset Monday for September 24. McCurdy has pleaded not guilty to the spring 2011 killing of Treybbian Leekey Nelson. His alleged co-actor, Bernard Daley Kelly, Jr., is scheduled for trial in August.
