HUNT COUNTY - Construction to widen the former two-lane highway to four is just weeks away from completion.
Contractor R.K. Hall Construction is now on the final segment between the Kansas City Southern Railroad Underpass and U.S. Highway 69. By early to mid October a new hot mix and striping will be placed on the roadway.
The entire project is valued at more than $23 million. Crews began widening the highway from two to four lanes through Hunt County began in fall 2007.
