Attorney Appointed for Man Accused of Trying to Run Over Firefighters

An attorney has been appointed for a Hunt County man charged with trying to run over firefighters.William Alton Easterling of West Tawakoni remains in custody at the Hunt County jail in lieu of $35,000 bond charged with two counts of aggravated assault against a public servant.

An attorney was appointed for Easterling during a Monday morning hearing in the 354th District Court. Judge Richard A. Beacom scheduled a second hearing in the case for Wednesday.

Easterling was taken into custody after he allegedly attacked personnel responding to a fire at his residence. Firefighters responded on the night of November 24th to a call of a structure fire at Easterlings’ home on Ideal Circle of West Tawakoni. Easterling was arrested after he was accused of attempting to run over fire personnel that were working to bring the fire under control.
