The Greenville City Council is scheduled, again, to accept the resignation of City Attorney Brent A. Money. The Council intends to vote on the resignation during Tuesday’s regular session, starting at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building.

The Council was scheduled to meet concerning the resignation during a special Dec. 21 session. Mayor Steve Reid called off the meeting, indicating the Council needed additional time before making a decision.

Money was named City Attorney in January 2008,  after Robert L. Scott turned in his resignation.

Money had been filling in as City Attorney since the summer of 2007. Daniel Ray, who works in the same law firm with Money and Scott, was hired as the Assistant City Attorney at that time.

Last month, the Council hired Scott as a special counsel to represent the city of Greenville on all matters relating to L-3 Communications Integrated Systems.
