Delta County Precinct 3 Commissioner Wayne Poole resigned from office today.
Poole served the County for three years prior to his recent re-election.
Poole was born in Lamar County and spent some of his childhood in Delta County. Poole has been living on a farm four miles northwest of Cooper that has been in his family for over 100 years. Poole recently sold the property and intends to build a house in Powderly.
Delta County Judge Herb Brookshire will be selecting a replacement for Poole to fill the remaining three and a half years of his term. Brookshire has been interviewing candidates.
