Electricity interrupted in rural North Texas

Social media reports Tuesday evening indicated isolated power outages in rural North Texas.

Parts of North Texas lost power late Tuesday afternoon after a possible downed power line in Fannin County.

According to Facebook posts by KETR listeners, a garbage truck struck a utility pole guy wire, downing the line. Large portions of Fannin County Electric Co-op customers lost power for at least an hour.

Fannin County Electric Co-op serves rural areas in Fannin, Collin, Hunt, Grayson, and Lamar Counties.

FCEC staff declined to comment Tuesday evening.
