A Commerce man has been arrested for taking sexually explicit images of a child.
At around 12:40 last Wednesday afternoon, Commerce Police were made aware of the images on a cell phone.
According to a press release from the police department, detectives determined that a man later identified as 31 year old Commerce resident David Mayer was the person that had taken the pornographic photos of a child.
Mayer was later served with a warrant at the Commerce Police Department while being held for an unrelated charge.
Mayer is being held at Hunt County Jail for possession and promotion of child pornography.
