Showers and thunderstorms will cover the region today. Rainfall totals over the next 24 hours in Northeast Texas are expected to range from 2" to 5", with the highest totals forecast around the Texarkana area. In the Dallas-Fort Worth area, rainfall totals are expected to range from 1" to 3".

While no severe thunderstorm watch has been issued, the weather service has advised that some thunderstorms could become severe, with large hail and damaging downburst winds possible.

Areas outside Texas also under a flash flood watch include Southeast Oklahoma, Northwest Louisiana and most of Arkansas.
