Burglar behind bars on multiple counts

Cooper Review

Terrance Jerome Parker of Cooper was arrested not once but twice for local robberies that began at the beginning of August.

“We are again experiencing a rash of thefts in Delta County, at least three thefts and/or burglaries have occurred over the last two weeks. Property owners should remain alert, lock up when possible and report any suspicious activity,” said Delta County Sheriff Ricky Smith, “The Sheriff’s Office will continue to focus on these thefts and burglaries. The investigation into one more of these thefts is progressing very well, we have a suspect and we are finalizing our investigation and at least one person will most probably be arrested.”

It was a report of a burglary at a residence south of Cooper on State Highway 24 that alerted the Delta County deputies. Deputy Adam Hall determined several tools were stolen including three chain saws and a lever action rifle. The owner of the property resides in DeSoto, Texas.

In working with the Commerce Police Department Parker was stopped on Aug. 4 with the stolen items in his possession. He was also charged with robbery of a business in Commerce. During their investigation a pawn ticket was recovered from the suspect for other stolen items. Delta County Investigator Ryan Brown seized the chain saws and rifle.

Warrants have also been issued on Parker for Violation of Probation.
