Winter weather fulfills predictions

Many area schools and business entities were closed again on Wednesday due to inclement weather and road conditions. Ice, sleet and snow has coated most of East Texas creating more winter just as the groundhog predicted.

Many areas reported as much as 3-4 inches of snow.

Nearly every local school district and university closed on Monday and Wednesday and some delayed opening on Tuesday. North Hopkins ISD had scheduled initially scheduled a bad weather day for this upcoming Friday, Feb. 27 however after missing Monday the District intends to hold classes Friday. Many businesses including County and City offices also opted to close due to inclement weather.

Lows are expected to again dip into the 20s and 60 percent of snow showers are forecasted for Friday. Drivers are urged to use caution in travels.
