Expecting a baby or have an infant? The Delta County Coalition is sponsoring an upcoming event on parenting at the Delta County Civic Center on Saturday, May 2 from 2-4 p.m. Plus there will be a drawing for for two car seats.
There will be multiple vendors there with a wealth of information. Hopkins County AgriLife Extension will have a presentation on nutrition, and the Department of State Health Services will teach on the dangers of “Shaken Baby.” Paris Pregnancy will be there along with 2-1-1/Can Help.
There will also be a special presentation on how to prevent SIDS, or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. In the US, SIDS is the leading cause of death among infants 1 month to 1 year old, and claims the lives of about 2,500 each year.
Cooper Community Support is a local organization that will be sharing how they can help in many areas of need. They will also be offering face painting for the little ones in attendance and refreshments.
Refreshments will be served and there will be door prizes given away. Everyone is invited to attend. The Delta County Civic Center is located at 221 E. Bonham Avenue in Cooper.
