Hunt County Historical Commission chairman Carol Taylor recently presented a paper to the East Texas Historical Association, "Bringing Back the Building Business in Greenville." She says the Depression-era Public Works Administration (PWA) and Works Progress Administration (WPA), designed to employ out-of-work people, built a number of buildings in the county, including the Greenville Municipal Building, and Mayo Hall and Henderson Hall at East Texas State Teachers College (now Texas A&M-Commerce).
