On Monday, May 2 Delta County Emergency Management Coordinator Monty Hobbs reported the County closed out Disaster Claim 4223.

“That covered the damage Delta County sustained in the May-June 2015 time frame,” said DCEMC Monty Hobbs. “Our total damages awarded were $333,763.51.”

He reminded this was a 75 percent reimbursement grant –  meaning that Delta County will receive about $250,000 in all.

“What needs to be remembered is this is not an infusion of extra money that Delta County can spend on projects. This grant money partially replaces money that we have already spent in damage repair and clean up that is above and beyond normal maintenance,” added Hobbs. “To date we have received a little less than half of the awarded money.”
