U.S. Rep. John Ratcliffe is leading an effort among Congressional Republicans to keep the House from breaking for its August district work period until it passes legislation to fund the construction of a border wall with Mexico.

Sixteen US representatives, including Ratcliffe, submitted a letter to Speaker Paul Ryan calling for swift and decisive action on one of candidate Trump’s signature issues.

The announcement comes one day after Republicans effectively dropped its efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act and could signal a shift from solely focusing on healthcare policy, towards other issues that featured large in Republican campaigns last year. However, President Trump today urged senators to try again to repeal and replace the ACA all at once.
