Congressman John Ratcliffe Honors Delta County Law Enforcement
Congressman John Ratcliffe made a special visit to Cooper, Texas on Monday to honor the Delta County Sheriff’s Office, expressing his appreciation for the work the local law enforcement does for the community and giving his support to the officers for putting their own lives at risk each day to protect citizens.He presented Delta County Sheriff Ricky Smith with the flag of the United States of America has been flown over the Capitol as a token of appreciation for their work and service. Congressman Ratcliffe was provided a tour of the jail facilities by Sheriff Smith, Chief Deputy Charla Singleton, Deputies Chris Bettis and Jeremy Jones. Joining for the tour and presentation was Delta County Judge Jason Murray, Cooper Mayor Darren Braddy, Cooper ISD Superintendent Denicia Hohenberger, Delta County Attorney Jay Garrett, Cooper Volunteer Assistant Fire Chief Tanner Crutcher, Delta County Chamber of Commerce Board President and Cooper Review Editor Cindy Roller along with staff writer Kalynn McKee. They were also given an opportunity for a question/answer session in the boardroom at First National Bank welcomed by Tim Gregory, bank president.
The tour wrapped up celebrating National Health Center Week, which was held from Aug. 14-18. Cooper Community Health Center hosted a reception with free Kona Ice snow cones to “beat the heat.” Several of the health center providers and staff also greeted Congressman Ratcliffe.
