Many Rescued Pets Stay With Their Foster Care Givers Forever

Dr. Karri McCreary, veterinarian and co-owner of the Greenville Animal Hospital, says pets caught up in disasters such as the recent hurricanes and wildfires often have to be moved to locations in distant locations of the country because shelters are already full nearby.  Dr. McCreary says many rescued pets are never reclaimed by their owners, and foster pet hosts often end up keeping the pets.
