Landowners along the Red River are claiming victory in nearly decade-long dispute.

A nearly decade-long land dispute between the Federal Bureau of Land Management and private property owners along the Red River has ended in a settlement favoring the landowners.

The Texas Farm Bureau reported that the BLM has cancelled its surveys and federal markers and have disclaimed its maps estimating public lands within Texas along the Red River.

The Bureau had sought to control approximately 90,000 acres along the Red River in Clay, Wichita and Wilbarger counties.
