Emily Porter, chairperson of the Bonham Economic Development Corporation (BEDCO), says the city is seeking a grant of up to $80,000 to add a new water line that would provide more water for expected population grown in the city and for business. A new line would also provide more water for fire-fighting capabilities. BEDCO is working with a company named Aerial Focus in developing a new city map and a new website. The Bonham ISD board has joined the city and Fannin County in approving the Freeport Tax Exemption, and a new Dairy Queen has opened in Bonham.
