Rain this past week has lessened drought conditions in much of Northeast Texas, though we're far from out of trouble. A patch of extreme drought remains in half of Franklin County. A week ago extreme conditions covered several counties east of Hunt and Fannin counties.

Today’s map from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows most of Northeast Texas downgraded to moderate drought with some severe drought remaining in the eastern halves of Delta and Hopkins counties.

By yesterday three counties in Northeast Texas has gotten enough rain to lift their burn bans.
