Next Commerce City Council Meeting May Be By Teleconference

KETR

Commerce Mayor Wyman Williams says when the City Council meets next month on April 15, they expect to meet by video if the coronavirus situation is still the same.  The city is developing the capability to conduct a video-conference meeting, which is permissable by law if the public can participate, the mayor says.  The council met this week and received a report on how Hunt Regional Healthcare is dealing with the disease outbreak.  The mayor says Commerce Chamber of Commerce has posted a list on its Facebook page of changes in business operations due to the coronavirus. He says the council received a report this week that sales-tax revenue is up this year, with $613,000 received so far compared to $545,000 at the same time last year.

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
