Plans, which have not been finalized, include a pool at Greenville SportsPark.

  • In Greenville, there are some big plans to expand the Reecy Davis Center as well as the city’s SportsPark. This month, the Greenville City Council approved a nearly $5 million contract to design a plan for a 100,000-foot recreational center at the SportsPark, and a 26,000-foot expansion of the Reecy Davis Center. The contract is with Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture, a Denver-based firm with offices in Dallas. Plans have not been finalized, but preliminary designs include the construction of a 25-meter pool at the SportsPark. Greenville has been without a public pool since a severe storm destroyed the pool at the Greenville YMCA in January 2017. The YMCA closed for good later that year. Construction of the projects could begin in summer 2024. Timeline for completion of the projects is 2025.
