Rockwall police seeking information about sexual assault suspect

Rockwall authorities have William Bynum, a current Rockwall and former Quinlan resident, in custody.

  • Rockwall police are seeking information regarding a man accused of sexually assaulting children. William Bynum, age 64, of Rockwall is in custody on multiple sexual assault charges. Rockwall police investigators say they suspect Bynum of being responsible for other sexual crimes targeting children, possibly dating back to the 1980s. Officials say Bynum has lived in Quinlan previously. He has also lived in Channelview, Texas, as well as Birmingham, Ala., and Lawton, Okla. Anyone with information about William Bynum is asked to contact the Rockwall Police Department.
  • In Red River County, the Clarksville ISD has a new superintendent. The district has announced that Dr. Marian Ellis will be the new Clarksville ISD superintendent on June 1. Ellis is a former principal of Clarksville Elementary and has worked with districts around the region, most recently North Hopkins ISD.
  • In Greenville, a new travel center is open on Interstate 30. The Roadster travel center is now doing business at 3004 Interstate 30 East, Exit 97, next to the Lamar Street overpass. The property is also planned to be the site of a new IHOP and a new Sonic drive-in.
