Chambers, of Quinlan, was first reported missing in March 2017.

Human remains found in Rains County last November have been identified as belonging to a Hunt County man who went missing in March 2017.

Today the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office released a statement saying that the remains were those of Michael Glenn Chambers of Quinlan. Chambers, aged 70 at the time, was first reported missing from his home in the 7000 block of FM 2101 on March 10, 2017. Chambers’ wife reported him missing after she returned home from work that evening.

On November 30, 2022, the Rains County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to human remains found in a wooded area near U.S. Highway 276, east of East Tawakoni. The Texas Rangers and the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office assisted Rains County officers with the recovery and investigation. The remains were sent to the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification in Fort Worth.

Today, Hunt County Sheriff Terry Jones expressed his hope that the discovery brings closure to the Chambers family and asked for the public’s prayers. The statement said the investigation into the case remains open, and no further information would be released.
