The City of Commerce is offering free COVID-19 vaccinations for eligible people on Thursday, March 25. The drive-through vaccination event will be held at the city’s Commerce Public Service Building, 1103 Sycamore St.

Registration is required. To register, go to the city’s website https://commercetx.org, or contact municipal staff by phone at 903-886-1100. A link to the registration form can be found on the website’s front page. Once registered, staff will contact you to set up an appointment time.

The vaccine being offered is the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, which is delivered in two doses. Those who receive the vaccine on March 25 will automatically be registered for the second dose, to be administered on April 20 at a similar event.

The entire process is expected to take participants less than a half hour. Once vaccinated, participants will be asked to remain on site for 15 minutes to be monitored for side effects.

Texas Department of Emergency Management and U.S. military personnel will be administering the vaccine.

As of midday on Tuesday, 194 of 300 spots had been taken, leaving about 100 appointments available.
