Winter weather is prevalent today, but chances are severe thunderstorms could arrive as soon as a few weeks from now.
In response to this the National Weather Service is kicking off the 2012 “Severe Weather Awareness Tour” across North Texas next Monday, January 9th. Included in the tour are meetings between meteorologists and emergency management officials and the media, as well as SKYWARN storm spotter training programs. The tour will stop in Greenville on Thursday, February 23rd, at 6:30 p.m. at the Fletcher Warren Civic Center.
