Depending on the roads you travel around Northeast Texas, you might have started seeing some salt streaks on the highways and bridges. That’s because the National Weather service is calling for rain on Wednesday and Thursday that could freeze, and TxDOT is laying down some brine to keep the streets more drivable.

While daytime temps should be in the 40s, overnight lows could get down below freezing. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights look to be the most likely to see freezing rain and some ice buildup around Northeast Texas.

Thursday night even has the possibility of a little snow

Rain, snow, or ice, the weekend should thaw things out. Saturday and Sunday are looking sunny and mild – temps should be in the 50s or lower 60s with overnight lows in the 40s.
