Fredericksburg resident and award-winning horse and mule trainer, Mary Wasson and Miss Dee, a 10-year-old trail M-U-L-E are finalists in the TV-reality competition, America’s Favorite Trail Horse.

The Finals episode that aired Tuesday night can be viewed online at www.actha.tv

Horse & rider teams from all fifty states auditioned in regional groups and 100 were selected for the TV finals at the Franklin Family Ranch in Austin last May.  Over 10episodes, 10 teams completed a  six mile obstacle course with six obstacles and six Judges.  Voters help choose the winner of each episode and those winners are then featured in the finals episode to determine the overall winner.

Texans can vote online for this Texas Team during a 48-hour period following  the finals episode from Tuesday 7PM until Thursday 7PM at www.actha.us. Select Finals under Episodes and vote for #296-Mary & Miss Dee!

Wasson said, “I really wanted to enter so that Miss Dee could show everyone how wonderful mules are on the trail.  A lot of people don’t know that they’re extremely sure-footed, cautious, hard-working – just fun on the trail.  I always say – there’s a reason they ride them down into the Grand Canyon.  Mules were so important in the development of our country - it would be great if America’s Favorite Trail Horse turned out to be a mule!”

America’s Favorite Trail Horseis sponsored by the American Competitive Trail Horse Association, benefitting horse charities.  For more information about ACTHA, go to www.actha.us. Contact Mary & Miss Dee at (210) 844-7424 or Email: whoa.mule@yahoo.com.
