Hunt County CASA Seeking Christmas Gifts For Kids; New Law Means Caseload is Lower

Lori Cope, executive director of Hunt County CASA (the Court-Appointed Special Advocates for children in foster care) says the deadline is Dec. 8 to donate Christmas gifts for the approximately 175 children in the CASA program. "Wish lists" are available at the CASA office in downtown Greenville. On another note, Lori says a new state law aimed at trying to keep more children in troubled homes with their parents is resulting in a lower caseload for CASA.

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
