Commerce ISD Band Director Kara Wallace says the "Taste of Commerce" will kickoff with an event at Mugs in downtown Commerce at 12 noon on Saturday (April 23).

Eighteen local restaurants and food stores are offering discounted coupons for $20. Kara says the band program hopes to raise $6,000 from the "Taste of Commerce" promotion. She was recently promoted to Commerce ID Fine Arts Director, but will continue to direct the Roaring Tiger Band, which made the state marching band meet this year for the first time since 1990.

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
