Last November, Commerce voters approved $62.5 million for the new school; agriculture facility; artificial turf for the Commerce High School baseball and softball fields; and new parking and concessions facilities for the baseball and softball fields. Proposition B, $5.5 million for a multi-purpose facility, which would include a covered artificial-turf field for football and band practice, and community events.
Also, the Commerce ISD Board of Trustees recently approved a $2,500 bonus for all teachers and staff who return to the CISD in the fall. The purpose is to retain as many teaching and support staff as possible.
