June Is 'Men's Health Month'

Publicdomainfiles.com

Frances Dalbey, outreach specialist with Hunt Regional Healthcare, reminds us that June is "Men's Health Month."

Frances shares information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that men on average die five years earlier than women, and die at higher rates from the three leading causes of death, heart disease, cancer and unintentional injuries. During Men's Health Month, men are urged to see their doctors more frequently, and adopt healthy living decisions, such as exercising and eating healthy. Also, Frances says the 28,000 square-foot expansion of Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville should be complete sometime this summer.

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
