Commerce Mayor Teddy Reel says the city has about 30 vacant lots available for sale to people who want to build homes on them.

The mayor says the formerly delinquent properties are mostly on the north side of the city. The hope is to sell the lots and for homes to be built on them, adding value to the city's tax role. Also, he says the new playground equipment being installed at Ivory Moore Park should be ready for the Norris Unity in the Community celebration on Saturday, July 30.
